Marketing Manager

Salary: Circa £38,000, subject to experience

Location: Meriden, West Midlands

British Dressage (BD) is the national governing body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of dressage. With over 17,000 members, BD aims to be the most respected and successful organisation for people passionate about dressage. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the head office team as Marketing Manager, based at our offices in Meriden, West Midlands.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the marketing and promotion of British Dressage, primarily focusing on driving membership and events, delivering added value for our members, sponsors and partners. This includes the creation of innovative marketing campaigns and associated promotional plans, as well as developing a range of promotional literature, producing marketing toolkits and other supporting collateral to generate additional revenue and support our stakeholder partners.

In addition, managing a team of two direct reports, this individual will be responsible for developing an effective digital marketing strategy through all available on-line and social media channels, as well as creating effective design and artwork for all print and online marketing campaigns. The post holder will also oversee our commercial activities, including clothing, merchandise and licensing.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and proactive marketing professional with a ‘can do’ attitude. Ideally educated to degree level, you will have excellent copy writing and proof-reading skills, alongside a strong sense of design with a flair for creativity and innovation. You will also be highly organised, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise your workload and meet tight deadlines. An effective team player, you will be equally adept at working independently and a highly motivated self-starter.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record across both traditional and digital media, with a broad range of marketing skills and knowledge. A genuine interest and understanding of equestrianism in general, and dressage in particular, would be advantageous for this role, but is not essential.

Given the seniority of this role, we require candidates to have a minimum of five years’ marketing experience. This will ideally include a period of time in a leadership role, with financial accountability and responsibility for managing a team. Due to the nature of our sport a flexible approach to working, including some weekends and evenings, is required. You must also have a full, clean driving license and be prepared to travel as necessary. For more information, including a full job description, please visit
