The Association of British Riding Schools is looking to appoint a Board member Trustee to its Board to work with the current Chair in a handover period and assume the role of Chair on retirement of the incumbent.
The candidate, who in addition to an interest in the ABRS’s aims and objectives, will ideally have previous Board and Board Committee experience and commercial expertise.
This is a voluntary role, but Trustees can claim reasonable expenses. Founded in 1954 with 200+ members, the need for the ABRS grows day by day as rules, regulations and legislation become ever more complex, customers more discerning and demanding, and the equestrian recreational market more diverse.
Candidates would be expected to have an interest in the world of horses and/or equestrian sports, leadership skills, client focus, problem solving and a track record of delivering results. There will be the opportunity to represent the ABRS at events and meetings organised by the BEF and sister organisations.
