Badminton England is seeking a Competition Officer to join the Development & Competition Team at the National Badminton Centre based in Milton Keynes.

The role will support and enable the team to grow the number of people competing, provide a pathway for players to progress, working with officials, deliver events to a high standard and be financially sustainable.

The Work:

Supporting the administration and delivery across a range of projects and competitions within the competitions team. 

A range of administration tasks, including:

o   Administration of meetings, including taking of minutes.

o   Communication and booking of venues.

o   Utilising and updating project plans and reporting documentation.

o   Administration of tournament and league systems, to support tournament organisers and players entries.

o   Day to day contact with our customers, including for example officials and players.

o   Raising invoices and purchase orders on internal finance system.

o   Maintain a clean and safe event storage area, including the load and unload of vans for events, and setting up of event equipment.

o   Packing and distribution of event equipment, for example shuttles and medals.

o   Other general administrative duties as required.

Attendance and supporting the delivery of up to a maximum of five events. This generally includes weekend and unsociable hours, may require travel and overnight stays, and will involve manual handling.

Although some flexibility exists for the actual working arrangement, the hours of work will be split within core business hours Monday to Friday 08:50 to 17:00 (until 15:30 Fridays). 

The Successful Candidate will have:

o   Experience in handling multiple tasks whilst applying a logical and keen eye for detail.

o   Good interpersonal skills, and experience in developing and nurturing positive internal and external relationships.

o   Confident 'can do' attitude with some creative thinking to bring to life new ideas.

o   The ability to adapt and apply initiative to a changing and a fast-paced environment.

o   Strong desire to play an active role in this area of the company's growth.

o   A willingness to work outside of normal office hours and travel as the job requires.

o   A driving license to enable travel, and potentially transportation of equipment, between places of work.
