Talent Pathway Officer
Location: South Wales, with option for agreed home working.
Salary: £22,500 - £24,500 per annum, 37.5 hours per week.
Job share option: This post is available as a part-time job share post.
Contract Period: Fixed term until the 31st March 2019 subject to Sport Wales funding (reviewed on an annual basis) and with possibility of extension.
About Canoe Wales
Canoe Wales is seeking a dynamic talent pathway officer to join a small but developing team, who will coach sprint and slalom in the South Wales area. Canoe Wales has a focus on developing our performance canoe sport disciplines of sprint and slalom and supporting athletes to achieve success at the highest level. The successful applicant will play a key role the development of performance canoeing within Wales and supporting our existing track record of producing World class canoeists.
Canoe Wales aims to create a talent pathway structure that supports the development of sprint and slalom athletes which is aligned with the British Canoeing strategy and increases the strength and depth of the talent pool across the UK. The post will coordinate and deliver support to a national development group of sprint athletes (approximately 25% of the post time) and coordinate regional development of the slalom and sprint programme, with particular reference to Barry, Cardiff and the South East Wales area (approximately 75% of the post time), providing support to athletes and coaches in a club setting.
