U18 Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence Manager- South Region

We are seeking applications for the voluntary position of Regional Manager to the U18 Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence Squad in the South Region. The South Region comprises the geographical area of Surrey, Hampshire, The Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

The squad will comprise of a maximum of eight players each chosen at an Assessment Weekend and will be for players generally under 18 years of age.

This role has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with England Golf policy persons undertaking this role will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service Disclosure Check and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) or be willing to undertake one.

The voluntary position will require a commitment based on 20 days of coaching, plus attendance at the England Golf Christmas Coaching Conference, coach and manager education days and any relevant team meetings and tournament attendance.

The focus of the role will be to assist the Regional Coach with the delivery of the U18 AASE Regional Coaching Programme and to successfully manage and mentor the players to give them the best environment for their golf development.

Requirements of the Applicant:

· A working knowledge of elite amateur golf

· Dedicated to elite junior golf development

· Excellent communication skills

· Sound management skills

· Enthusiastic, personable and competitive
