Workshop: Exploring unconscious bias

  • Date: 22 Feb 2018
  • Time: 10:00 to 13:00
  • Venue: Gateley Plc, London

Do you know what effect unconscious bias is having on your organisation? This half day workshop will challenge you to identify your own biases and will explore how understanding your biases can have a positive impact on your organisation.

Being aware of unconscious biases is good for governance and can support the diversity and integrity of an organisation. It helps to make sure that organisations recruit individuals with the right balance of skills, knowledge and experience and are representative of the sector.

The workshop will cover:

  • Identifying your own biases and their potential positive and/or negative impact
  • How to create a culture of good working practices in your organisation
  • What steps you can take to make sure you don’t fall into a ‘tick box’ culture when it comes to meeting diversity targets.
  • Recruitment processes to ensure your organisation is representative of the sector.

This workshop has been developed for the sport and recreation sector. A knowledge of unconscious bias is beneficial to everyone, but in particular, those who focus on equality and diversity, work within HR or are in senior management roles.
