HEAD OF PERFORMANCE SUPPORT (BRITISH ROWING)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Act as an effective member of the WCP Performance Leadership Team (PLT) by developing strong working relationships with all members.

·       In support of the Director of Performance and Head Coaches enable effective performance planning.

·       Support the Head Coaches and their teams to deliver the IADP process and shape the SSSM team's approach to deliver what is required to impact effectively at an individual level to a large cohort of highly talented rowers within the WCP and drive the IADP process.

·       Make a significant contribution in the process of evolving the understanding of WiTTW in Rowing.  Ensure that the requirements are understood and articulated within the programme, and any impacting gaps in knowledge and expertise are identified.

·       Drive the performance impact of the performance support team.  Ensure action plans and objectives are clear and that activity is aligned to coach and athlete plans. 

·       Deploy all performance support staff on day to day basis including camps and competitions.

·       Lead the performance data strategy.  Identify and act on key areas of development.

·       Performance strategy, specifically working with the Director of Performance and Leadership Team to develop and implement a strategy that delivers against performance goals of the GB Rowing Team.

·       Provide leadership of the performance support team including accountability for line management and development of performance support practitioners.  Ensure practitioners receive constructive feedback through-out the year.

·       Oversee and co-ordinate research and innovation projects working with external stakeholders including the International Federation, UK Sport and EIS Performance Innovation.

·       Provide a point of contact between NGB-EIS services (e.g. Technical Leads, Operations, Business Services) in relation to the development of SSSM staff and operational management of appropriate EIS sites and services.

·       Oversee Rowing's use of Bisham Abbey and any other EIS sites used by GBRT athletes.

·       Reflect the professional codes of conduct of sports science and sports medicine and ensure that this is respected and adhered to keep the athlete’s health and welfare at the centre of concern in all aspects of training and competition
