Project Lead - Inspire 2022

  • Location: Nationwide
  • Organisation: Swim England
  • Salary: £35,022
  • Closing Date: 05 June 2022 | Events & Operations

Swim England is striving to create a happier, healthier and more successful nation through swimming and aquatic activity. We strive to inspire everyone to enjoy the water in the way that suits them. As the recognised national governing body for swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo in England, we help people learn how to swim, enjoy the water safely, and compete in all our sports. Swim England is an incorporated organisation with charitable status.

About the Role

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced, motivated, confident and capable project/programme manager to join our team to lead and deliver a truly lasting legacy for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Our vision is to use the 2022 Commonwealth Games as a catalyst for sustainable change, improving pathways and opportunities for people to participate in aquatics. This Project Lead role will drive a range of outcomes aimed at 'turning the dial' in developing sustainable change to tackle inequalities.

With the responsibility and accountability of delivering the Inspire plan, which has been endorsed by our funding partner Sport England, you’ll be someone who is passionate about getting young people and people from diverse ethnic communities involved in sport. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with underrepresented groups, and tailor the programme activities to reduce the barriers to aquatics, creating an inclusive programme of activities supported by the wider Swim England team.

As it’s a funded role, we’re offering a fixed term contract of 24 months to really make a difference. The role is full time, 35 hours per week, with great benefits as detailed in the link above.

You’ll report to the Learn to Swim and Workforce Director, and ideally be situated in the West Midlands area as much of the work will take place in that location. There may be a need for further travel as needed, for which expenses will be paid based on organisation policy.
