Projects Officer

JOB SUMMARY

In this role, your primary responsibility will be leading our relationship with the Jack Petchey Foundation and delivering the Jack Petchey Table Tennis Programme. The Jack Petchey Table Tennis Programme is currently in its 11th year and engages around 7000 young people annually across a programme of competitions, training courses, coaching and table donations.

Your role will include complete project management, from bid writing through to delivery and reporting. In addition, you will oversee our projects with British Para TT and play an instrumental part in delivering a range of projects across the team that enable progress against key organisational objectives including the Level the Table Strategy.

You will be collaborative in your approach, working to join up your work with the wider team and Department to work towards the achievement of Table Tennis England objectives and goals.

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual who is enthusiastic about making a difference through sport, and who is excited by the wide-ranging opportunities that table tennis presents.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the relationship with the Jack Petchey Foundation, and develop new partnerships to enhance and support the role’s objectives

• Lead the delivery of the Jack Petchey Foundation funded table tennis project, with the support of a project working group

• Oversee our projects with British Para Table Tennis, maintaining project documents and plans

• Work collaboratively with the wider team and Department to grow key projects and programmes, and join up opportunities provided for across the sport

• Lead on the delivery of various projects briefs relevant to development of table tennis in clubs, leagues and schools, from planning to implementation and reporting

• Produce newsletters, website articles, case studies and programme material to promote key projects and initiatives

• Function as an ambassador and advocate of Table Tennis England

• Undertake such duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post, and the needs of Table Tennis England

Person specification/key skills/experiences

Essential:

• Experience of working in a sport development role

• Good project management skills, with the ability to devise project plans and work to budgets and deadlines

• Experience of partnership working

• Understanding of the role sport and physical activity for plays for indivdiuals and wider society

• IT literate, able to use the baisc tools in Microsoft Office (word, powerpoint, outlook and excel)

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate

• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and work on a number of different projects

• A resilient approach to work

• Great team player, able to work independently and collaboratively across the organisation and with partners

• Positive can-do attitude

• Willingness to work occasional extended and unsociable hours

• Ability to travel across England for events Desirable

• Experience of organising competitions for young people
