Technical Officials Manager

England Athletics is the membership and development body for athletics and running in England. We work in partnership with the wider athletics family, especially our member clubs and bodies, UK Athletics, Sport England & commercial partners, to grow opportunities for everyone to experience our sport and to enable them to reach their full potential. England Athletics also provides national level competition and is responsible for athlete development beneath world class performance level.

England Athletics is a membership organisation with c1,700 member clubs/bodies and c162,000 registered athletes, which exists to provide services and support to its members and to promote and deliver athletics and running activities across all ages, event disciplines, ability levels and aspirations. There are also more than 7m who run each month in England, 2,000 licensed road races and 163,000 active RunTogether participants operating in more than 3,000 groups.

The Technical Officials Manager role will engage, value and respect expert and athlete centred officiating workforce to support the successful delivery of competitions delivered by England Athletics, our member clubs and other competition providers.

This role will work strategically as part of a Club and Participation team. With strong working relationship with the England Athletics Competition Team, Member Engagement lead for Officiating, UKA, other HCAFs and the area and county leads for officials.

This role is a key commitment from England Athletics responding to key challenges facing the sport in the support to athletes, clubs, member bodies and competition providers and to build on the home Commonwealth games in 2022 in Birmingham. To have an expert workforce that is ready to support the current and future athletes to take part in great competitions enabling personal best performances is essential for the sport to move forward.

The ability to travel and work flexibly is an integral part of the role. The Head Office for England Athletics is in Birmingham, but travel will be required to other parts of the country.
