School Swimming and Water Safety Development Officer

We are seeking an experienced School Swimming and Water Safety Development Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. Where possible flexible working or job share requests will be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity working within the Learn to Swim Department as part of a fun and dynamic team. You will be responsible for supporting Schools and Learn to Swim providers to deliver high quality Swim Safe and School Swimming programmes, leading to an increase in the number of children achieving KS2 attainment and adults learning to be safe in and around water.

Reporting to the Water Safety Drowning Prevention Manager, you will be responsible for working on a consultative basis with customers to improve and increase the School Swimming and Water Safety activity at their sites. You will project manage targeted interventions working in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the RNLI, RLSS, YST, afPE and Active Partnerships. You will also use your technical learn to swim and water safety knowledge to contribute to producing and updating the wider ranges of  resources and qualifications.

About You

The successful candidate must:

  • Have a working knowledge of the Swim England School Swimming and Water Safety Programmes.
  • Experience of School Swimming and Water Safety delivery both operational and practical.
  • Be a confident communicator with the ability to influence key partners at all levels within the industry.
  • Have a flexible approach to work with the ability to work under pressure and manage a varied workload.
