The Performance Team is responsible for creating a pathway for British champions that nurtures a diverse team of players, people and leaders, and our mission is to become one of the most respected nations in the world for player development.
The Head of the National Performance Pathway (NPP) plays a key role in delivering our mission for players between the ages of 7-14 (the National Player Pathway) by creating a globally respected and sustainable pathway that nurtures high potential young players as performers and people. Achieving our mission will play a key role in inspiring more people to play tennis and benefit from the game.
As a senior leader in the LTA, you will lead the 10U Regional and 14U National stages of the Performance Player Pathway, working with LTA teams and partners to strategically deliver on player progression goals. The role includes significant people leadership responsibility, with seven direct reports and a team of twelve in total. In addition, there are a wide range of operational and performance support LTA team members working very closely with the NPP. You will also work in close collaboration with stakeholders from Clubs, Schools, County Associations, Regional Tennis, Facility providers and the various non-performance LTA teams. You will be responsible for driving the achievement of these key objectives:
- Establish one of the world’s most seamless and respected early stage junior pathways.
- Integrate closely with LTA Youth to transition more children into regular training and competition every year.
- Grow the number of players with the potential to be selected for the 14U National stage by age 10.
- Grow the number of British players who are internationally relevant by 14 with the potential to continue to progress as competitive juniors.
- Develop and deliver an environment of high quality training and competition opportunities for performance players aged 7-14 that addresses the most relevant development needs for players at this stage of their career.
- Hold all NPP partners accountable for the safety, welfare and wellbeing of their players, parents and staff.
