Governance Administrator

The Professional Golfers’ Association is seeking an experienced Administrator to provide support in safeguarding, risk management and other compliance areas.

The Governance Administrator will be responsible for the processing and recording of all Disclosures (DBS and PVG), updating and monitoring Access NI and Garda Vetting checks as well as assisting the Head of Governance in relevant matters to include corporate insurance renewals, claims and enquiries.

Reporting to the Head of Governance, the Governance Administrator’s duties will include:

  • Monitoring and updating safeguarding certification details.
  • Processing DBS and PVG checks for PGA Members and Assistants, creating, verifying and monitoring external systems and updating and monitoring Access NI and Garda Vetting checks.
  • Dealing with written and verbal enquiries.
  • Administering ‘adverse’ criminal records checks.
  • Administration assistance for safeguarding cases, including updating external database.
  • Assisting with the management of corporate insurance including renewal documentation, claims handling and issuing insurance certificates.
  • Arranging and attending meetings, minute/note taking and monitoring action plans.

The successful candidate will be: an experienced high-level administrator; familiar with the use of database systems (preferably CRM) and a range of IT systems including Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Zoom and MS Teams; an accurate minute/note-taker.

Key competences include good communication, interpersonal, planning and prioritising skills whilst being customer/Member and business focused. An excellent attention to detail as well as a flexible approach to working whilst retaining confidentiality, being discrete, diplomatic and tactful is a must. Ideally the successful candidate will be a professional, pro-active self-starter who can work on their own initiative to manage a variety of tasks to a high level.

This is a permanent, full-time role working around the core hours of the business (9 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday) however a flexible approach and occasional travel to meetings may be required. The role will be location independent and therefore home based.
