Project Officer (Young People)

Summary of your role:

Are you a focused and motivated team player looking to lead on a new Social Inclusion initiative based in Harrow?
Your main focus will be to develop, deliver, and coordinate the ‘Chances Programme’ to support young people aged 8-17 years old at risk of offending and creating mechanisms for preventing youth violence.

You will build a project aimed to improve physical literacy, increase school attendance, lower NEET status, and reduce offending and re-offending.

You will be required to teach within school settings, alongside activating the mentoring programme.

Your key responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Delivering both sport-based and personal development sessions, providing a high quality experience, with an inclusive approach in school and during community hours and weekends;
  • Developing trust and engaging with young people, and being seen as a positive role model, a go-to person;
  • Building strong and positive relationships with a range of key stakeholders;
  • Engaging with 100 to 140 young people aged between 8-17 years old, who meet the programme criteria;
  • Being the direct point of contact for partners on all matters relating to the programme including: teaching, technical and administrative;
  • Managing and overseeing the recruitment and selection process of all young people;
  • Planning and delivering a school focused programme to raise young peoples’ educational achievements and physical activity;
  • Referring into the Trust’s PL Kicks programme via the PL Kicks Manager;
  • Writing reports to include data statistics, impact and case studies.
