Board Secretary

Para Dance UK  is a registered charity and National Governing Body with a mission to ensure that the disability community can be involved in dance in all its forms, to promote the sport of Para Dance Sport within the UK, and to maintain and improve awareness and engagement in inclusive dance in Dance teaching/coaching standards. The main purpose of the role is to provide a high quality professional service to ensure the effective delivery and recording of Trustee meetings. The individual will be working closely with the Chair, board of trustees, and Executive office to provide governance advice and secretariat support. The successful candidate should be an effective communicator who is good at building relationships, has excellent organisational skills and maintains high standards of corporate governance. They will be a trusted advisor to the Board, Executive and Committees, therefore diplomacy and an understanding of sensitivities relating to confidential information and deadlines when managing meetings is essential. 

Trustee meetings are held on a weekend every quarter (on Saturday’s, 1 every 3 months). The board also conduct monthly teleconferences for 1 hour (usually on Monday evenings) to discuss key Para Dance UK business.

This is a voluntary role. Para Dance UK will refund reasonable travel & subsistence expenses and work-related expenses.
