Job Description

Following a period of investment in disability football, and the creation for the first time this year of nationally organised, regional pan-disability tournaments, the English Schools’ Football Association is seeking an expert in disability sport to advise and guide the further development of its disability offer, by serving on the National Council.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the world of disability sport as it applies to school children, and an understanding of the game of football in schools. S/he will bring demonstrable experience in board-level operations, having a track record of high impact influence in a comparable role. Experience of operating at a national level, and/or an understanding the role of a National Governing Body would also be advantageous.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV, with a letter of application not exceeding 2 sides of A4, to the Chair of the ESFA Council, via the Chief Executive

Interested candidates are also welcome to arrange a discussion about the post in advance of submitting an application. The CEO is contactable on the email address above. More information about the Association can be found on our website, www.schoolsfootball.org, and the role description, along with the terms of Reference for the governing Council, are attached.

Please note that this is a voluntary position, and as such is unremunerated, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

The ESFA is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and as such particularly welcomes applicants from under-represented groups for this role.
The ESFA is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all colleagues to share this commitment. Candidates will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
