Referee Development Officer (RDO)
Salary: £24,400 + Benefits (Full Time)
Location: Northumberland
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become Northumberland FA’s Referee Development Officer.
We are requesting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals with a desire to deliver excellence to join our changing organisation:
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for referees delivering best practise at all times.
- To lead and develop effective retention strategies and decrease the number of referees leaving the game.
- To increase the activity of the current referees and ensure Referees coverage in all Leagues is maximised working towards 100% coverage.
- To provide a range of development opportunities for the referee workforce including; training and development, mentoring, seminars and on-line learning opportunities.
- To enhance the current referees academy.
- To implement successful use of the Whole Game System for Match Officials affiliation and reporting.
- To deliver the referee inclusion targets in the County Business/Operational Plan.
- To develop a system of identifying talented referees and to support and develop Referee Academies and other such schemes.
- To assist in the development of all Assessors, Instructors, Mentors and other volunteers involved in supporting referees.
- To lead in supporting referees, leagues and clubs in promoting and delivering the FA Respect programme.
- To offer alternative environments for officials to operate (i.e. Small Sided, Futsal etc.)
- Contribute to the CFAs delivery of an effective safeguarding plan, including the Safeguarding Operating Standard.

The successful candidate will be subject to a six month probationary period.
