Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + commission 

Location: This is a London based role with flexible office and home working options available. Badminton England's Head Office is located in Milton Keynes.

Job Purpose:

Badminton England is looking for an outstanding candidate to play a key role as part of the Commercial team to deliver a 10yr growth strategy for the world's oldest and most prestigious badminton tournament - YONEX All England Badminton Championships.

Owned and hosted by Badminton England, the tournament is part of the HSBC BWF World Tour as a Super 1000 event, watched by 1/4 billion fans globally, broadcast in 53 global markets and the event the world best players peak to win - its sets the standard globally.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the creating a domestic and export sponsorship product where badminton sits as a top 5 participated sports in England and has in excess of 550 million fans globally.

This is an account management and business development role focusing on activation for current partners but more so driving new sponsorship and advertising sales with a high financial yield, focusing on the Asian market or brands that want to break into/grow in this market.

Although the prime focus is the YONEX All England Championships other Badminton England assets can be built into partnerships such as Team England squad, national grassroots participation programmes, domestic competitions and the National Badminton Centre.

Experience in sport and sponsorship would be an advantage however experience in selling is a must. They must have the ability to work by themselves with the strategic direction of the Commercial Director.

Responsibilities:

* Consistently identify target brands and generate face-to-face meetings to establish new client relationships and sales

* Maximise all potential revenue opportunities to achieve/exceed event targets

* Secure Partners who will actively promote the Championships and help deliver a great tournament through the provision of products and services

* Account management of current partners to ensure contractual delivery is achieved and exceeded

* Create brand extension and new assets to diversify revenue streams and build tailored proposals for brand partnerships

* Ability to present sponsorship offerings directly to brands demonstrating clear ROI

* Proactive and self-sufficient in driving relationships with prospective partners

* Maintain day to day management of the sales pipeline, forecasting accurate sales activity and present in weekly sales meetings

Skills & Experience:

* 2 years+ experience in a sales role - proven sales track record during this time

* Creative mind-set to clearly demonstrate how a brand can use this as an effective marketing platform

* Excellent inter-personal skills, advanced communication and presenting capabilities

* Highly independent, performance-driven, and comfortable with working to tight deadlines

* Demonstrate an understanding of brand and communications and the role of sponsorship in the marketing mix

* Excellent experience in the full sales lifecycle- including the negotiation process

* Strong ability to develop relationships with people at all levels

* Ideally, you've worked in sport sponsorship previously or can demonstrate a great knowledge of sponsorship

* A track record of achieving/exceeding sponsorship/sales targets
