Business Support Officer

Salary: £22,233 - £25,567 (£14,822 - £16,874 pro-rata)

We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to provide the Active Surrey team with both office management and administrative support. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of the Active Surrey office, will provide PA support to the Director and senior management and will deliver efficient and effective customer service through our programmes, events and training.

Active Surrey is the lead agency for physical activity and sport in the county, and is committed to getting more people, more active, more often. In this role you would join the energetic and committed team striving to make Surrey the most active county. We are looking for someone who is methodical and organised, with strong customer service skills.

The ideal candidate will have a business management or administrative qualification and experience of working in an office management or PA role.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Arranging team, Board and committee meetings, including issuing papers, taking minutes and communicating with attendees.

• Providing PA support to the Director and the Senior Management Team.

• Ensuring the office is managed efficiently.

• Supporting the introduction and set up of Active Surrey’s new Customer Relationship Management system.

• Providing customer service, administrative and occasionally operational support in the delivery of Active’s Surrey programmes, events, training and conferences. Active Surrey, part of the national County Sports Partnership (CSP) Network, is a not for-profit organisation, hosted by Surrey County Council.

Based at Active Surrey’s office in Woking, the job will involve occasional evening or weekend work so some flexibility may be required.

The role is part time and there is flexibility over how these hours are managed during the working week, subject to business requirements being met.
