Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Location: Equestrian House, Abbey Park, Stareton

The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) is looking to recruit a Head of Communications and Marketing to lead its Communications and Marketing function. 

The British Equestrian Federation is the National Governing Body for Equestrianism in the UK, affiliated to the FEI and supported by UK Sport and Sport England. The organisation has 19 Member Bodies reflecting the interests of a very broad spectrum of equestrian sports and activities, ranging from Olympic and Paralympic competition, to equine welfare, trade and recreational riding. Equestrianism has huge public appeal within an extensive competitive and recreational landscape. Some 2.7 m people in the UK ride each year supported by a strong core of enthusiasts, spectators and volunteers, and creating a substantial market with major economic and social benefits. Equestrianism is a gender and age-neutral activity, enabling it to play a key role in creating a more active nation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will have prime responsibility for building and protecting the reputation of the BEF through;

  •  developing and implementing the BEF Communications and Marketing strategies in support of the wider Federation strategy, promoting, through influence and advocacy, its purpose, activities and values;
  •  working with the BEF’s key stakeholders internally and externally to promote national and international influencing activity;
  •  delivering clearly defined strategies and playing a key role in event coverage and media management at key national and international events, such as the Olympic Games, World and European Championships; and
  •  Providing line management for the Marketing and Communications Officer.
