Finance Administration Assistant

Location: PGA National Headquarters, Centenary House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield

The Professional Golfers’ Association is seeking a Finance Administration Assistant to provide support in key aspects of its Finance Department. 

Based at PGA National Headquarters, Centenary House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, the Finance Administration Assistant will be part of the Finance Department reporting directly to the PGA Director of Finance & IT.

Principal areas of responsibility will include, administration pertaining to the ordering of, cancellation of and any amendments to company credit cards, company fuel cards and travel cards for all company employees. Assist in the reconciliation of Nat West expenditure control accounts and fuel cards. Assist in the corresponding general ledger entries.

Assist the transactional and processing team to ensure accurate entry of all sales and purchasing information into the accounting system. Assist in the quarter end accounts production process. Provide administrative support to the Director of Finance and IT and the PGA Accounting team. Ad hoc duties as required by the Senior Management Accountant and/or Director of Finance and IT or Group Finance Director.

Essential skills and experience

  • GCSE level (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • Purchase/Sales ledger experience
  • Previous experience of accounting packages (preferably Microsoft Great Plains)
  • Excellent MS Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads
  • Previous experience of working within a finance team

The ideal candidate will be support/customer service focused with a confident, positive ‘can do’ attitude. Organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet strict deadlines with excellent communication skills, a good attention to detail with a flexible approach are amongst the key competences needed to succeed in this role.  

This is a permanent full time roll with core hours of the business being from 9 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday.
