Management Accountant - (fixed-term)

Location: The PGA National Headquarters, Centenary House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands

The Professional Golfers’ Association is seeking a Management Accountant to provide fixed-term support in key aspects of its Finance Department.  This is a temporary position for, it is envisaged, up to 12 months duration

Based at PGA National Headquarters, Centenary House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, the Management Accountant will be part of the Finance Department reporting directly to the Director of Finance.

Principal areas of responsibility will include

  • Production of the quarterly P&L accounts for the seven PGA Regions, WPGA, Euro Pro tour and National Tournaments
  • Reconcile tournament income and costs for all regional tournament activity, Euro Pro and National Tournaments
  • Produce quarterly forecast updates for Regions and National Tournaments and collate annual budget information for these areas
  • Maintain the PGA company Fixed Asset register, accurate posting of depreciation charges and quarterly reconciliation of capital expenditure
  • Quarterly prepayment reconciliation and posting to the ledger
  • Manage the company withholding tax process and liaise with Foreign Entertainers Unit
  • Manage and submit the PGA EC Sales lists submissions to HMRC
  • Conduct credit checks and recommend credit limits as appropriate
  • When required authorise tournament payments and ad hoc supplier payment submissions in line with agreed authority limits
  • Ad hoc duties as required by the Senior Management Accountant and/or PGA Director of Finance and IT or Group Finance Director

The ideal candidate will be support/customer service focused with a confident, positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Being familiar with organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet strict deadlines with excellent communication and management skills, a good attention to detail with a flexible approach are amongst the key competences needed to succeed in this role.  

Discretion and confidentiality throughout all aspects of the role and being qualified to ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent (or working towards) are essential requirements.

The successful applicant will be experienced at producing management accounts, will be an experienced user of accounting packages (preferably Great Plains) and will have worked extensively with Microsoft excel, word and outlook.

This is a fixed-term position for up to twelve months duration.  Core working hours are from 9 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday with one hour lunch (35 hours per week).
