Member Education Coordinator

Salary: PGA National Training Academy, Ping House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands

With its aim to improve the personal and professional lives of its Members, the Professional Golfers’ Association is seeking a Member Education Coordinator to assist in all aspects of developing and delivering its ‘post-graduate’ personal and professional development education to PGA Members.

Based at the PGA National Training Academy, Ping House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, the successful candidate will create and provide opportunities for PGA Members to access education to support the roles they undertake in the golf industry.  Being responsible for overseeing the process of recognizing, accrediting and recording the personal development of each PGA Member, the Member Education Coordinator will grow awareness of career development opportunities available to PGA Members.

Duties include

  • Coordinating the delivery of an annual programme of personal development opportunities for Members;
  • Identifying routes for career development and signposting learning opportunities to PGA Members;
  • Identifying and negotiating the supply of relevant courses and qualifications from external providers;
  • Producing cost models to ensure financial viability and compliance with budget;
  • Overseeing the smooth delivery of all Member education events, ensuring compliance with quality standards;
  • Overseeing the process of recognizing, accrediting and recording personal development of PGA Members on a platform;
  • Working with industry employers to accredit in-house training;
  • Overseeing the use of the Member Education website and other media communication;
  • Managing the education element of re-election to PGA Membership;
  • Monitoring and evaluating effectiveness;
  • Participating in relevant projects.

Qualifications and experience that are essential for the role includes:  being educated to degree level (or equivalent); experience of educational systems and procedures; and budget and finance management experience as well as experience in arranging workshops, conferences or events.   Experience of web design and build, knowledge of the game of golf and experience in design, development and evaluating a range of teaching materials are all desirable.

As well as having excellent presentation, communication, planning and organising skills, the successful candidate will be familiar with working to strict deadlines, have a flexible approach to work and the ability to negotiate and influence whilst having a clear knowledge and understanding of the structure and business of golf.  Understanidng the needs of a Membership organisation and a clear understanding of workforce planning, development and support are desirable competences.

This is a permanent, full time role working 35 hours per week around the core hours of the business (9 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday).
