Training Executive (Business & Management)

Location: PGA National Training Academy, Ping House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands

Based at the PGA National Training Academy, Ping House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, the successful candidate will assist the Training Department in all aspects of developing and delivering Business and Management education on the Professional Golf Studies FdSc programme, Professional Golf DipHE programme, Applied Golf Management Studies BSc programme, PGA Director of Golf qualification and ASQ (Level 5) Golf Club Management qualifications.

Duties include

  • Leading all business and management modules on the FdSc and Dip HE programmes.
  • Designing, producing, uploading and maintaining e-learning material.
  • Preparing, delivering and evaluating taught sessions including being responsible for the delivery of business and management modules on the AGMS BSc programme where appropriate and required.
  • Designing, producing and coordinating examination and assignment writing.
  • Maintaining a workforce to deliver business and management training and education and assignment marking.
  • Implementing quality assurance (IV) processes and procedures and ensuring programmes continue to meet quality assurance standards.
  • Providing annual reports and managing module and student feedback.
  • Undertaking research to help ensure learning material remains cutting-edge, current and that programmes continue to be ground-breaking.
  • Working closely with experts to identify and develop business and management qualifications and other PGA Member personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Day to day operations of the department including arranging and attending meetings, assisting with overseeing daily operations linked to PGA developed and managed qualifications and promoting all programmes and qualifications at events.
  • Self-development to ensure knowledge remains up to date.

Qualifications and experience that are essential for the role include:  being educated to undergraduate level in a relevant subject area; an understanding of all aspects of business management, previous teaching experience and being highly computer literate.  Previous experience as a module leader in higher education together with experience of e-learning production using Adobe and Articulate packages as well as experience of using learning management systems would be desirable.

As well as having excellent presentation, communication, planning and organising skills, the successful candidate will be familiar with working to deadlines, have a good attention to detail with a flexible approach to work and will understand the needs of the business and the philosophy of a membership association.  Having a good appreciation of the role of a PGA Professional, the golf industry, the structure of golf and management of golf facilities is desirable.
