Communications Officer

Salary: £22,500 to £26,000 per annum

Location: Leamington Spa

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our small but ambitious and friendly team, as the British Blind Sport Communications Officer. British Blind Sport is the National Disability Sport Organisation that supports blind and partially sighted people to get active and play sport.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team, leading the charity’s marketing and communications programme, raising the profile of British Blind Sport’s membership scheme and promoting a broad range of projects, events and fundraising activities. A strong foundation has been created and we are looking for an outstanding individual to take our communications to the next level.

About the role

Candidates for this post must have a proven track record of delivering against marketing and communication strategies and outcomes. A high level of planning, time management and customer service skills are needed as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work well in a team.

Experience in supporting visually impaired people or vast knowledge of sport is desirable not essential. Occasional weekend or flexible working may be required. The successful candidate must be willing to travel as the role requires.

Our organisation is the UK leader for supporting people with a visual impairment to lead active lifestyles and operates a membership programme with over 1,000 active members.

The post holder will be based at our offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire located less than 10 minutes from M40 exit 14. Hosting regular social events and training days, the organisation has an ethos of fun and enthusiasm as well as professionalism and passion for our work.
