Football & Futsal Development Manager

Salary: £29,000 - £35,000

Location: Flexible

Main purpose of role Lead the delivery of a Football & Futsal development strategy within Higher Education to drive FA National Game Strategy objectives. The role requires collaboration with The Football Association, member institutions and other key stakeholders relevant to the development of the grassroots game.

This role directly line manages an FA funded football development team consisting of a Football Development Officer and Women and Girls Football Development Officer and links with the wider work undertaken by the BUCS Development Team.

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. Lead the delivery of the BUCS Football and Futsal Development Strategy.
  2. Lead all budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes as agreed with The FA and BUCS.
  3. To lead the BUCS partnership with The FA, liaising and influencing directly with senior managers in order to help shape and deliver football objectives for the HE sector.
  4. Line management of the Football and Futsal development team, including setting and monitoring work programmes, conducting team meetings and staff appraisals.
  5. To design, implement and report on key Football & Futsal intervention programmes across the Higher Education sector.
  6. To lead multi-agency meetings with members, partners, stakeholders and sponsors to develop a collaborative approach to the development of football.
  7. To lead and deliver an annual football conference together with a training and development programme for sector staff from BUCS member institutions.
  8. To lead the BUCS Football and Futsal advisory group.
  9. To design and implement a communications plan to support the delivery of the BUCS Football & Futsal strategy.
  10. Support the integration of digital solutions designed to track participation programmes and engage with unique participants on behalf of The FA and BUCS.
  11. Manage the delivery of other Football and Futsal Development initiatives as and when required.
  12. Ensure that all BUCS Football and Futsal activities comply with The FA safeguarding standards and procedures.
