Canoe Wales - Regional Development Officers (two part-time posts available)

Salary: £22,000 - £24,500 pro rata

Location: South Wales or West/Mid Wales – homeworking with significant travel within Wales

Canoe Wales and the Outdoor Partnership are joining together to improve the support we provide to paddlesport clubs, centres and activity providers across Wales. We are currently recruiting two part-time Regional Development Officers – one each for South Wales and West/Mid Wales – who will work closely with officers from the Outdoor Partnership (covering North Wales) as a national paddlesport development team.

As a Regional Development Officer, you will be the main point of contact between Canoe Wales and the volunteers and professionals in your region who are developing paddlesport at the grassroots. Your job is to get more people paddling – by supporting our clubs to grow and develop, assisting with publicising and organising special events in your region, developing initiatives to encourage underrepresented groups into paddling, and working with local stakeholders to develop new venues and opportunities for paddlesport

This is a challenging role that requires creativity, strategic thinking and amazing people skills – you’ll spend a lot of time on the road meeting with clubs and paddlers and you’ll be working with a small budget and limited time to do everything you might like to do. But it’s also an exciting opportunity to make a real difference if you’re passionate about getting people outdoors and enjoying our beautiful lakes, rivers and coastline.
