Head of Fundraising
Salary: £42,500 plus car plus benefits

Job Description
We are a nationally recognised golf charity, who put children at the heart of our programmes: our focus on teaching and developing life skills through golf has led to a track record of helping more young people to ‘Start, Learn and Stay’ in the sport. We believe that introducing golf to young people should be: fun, inclusive, innovative, inspiring, nurturing and child centred. Over the past 15 years, these values have allowed us to help young people from all abilities and backgrounds to access the sport.
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who will be integral to our Senior Management Team while making a significant contribution across the organisation as a genuine team player, and contributing to the ongoing growth of the charity. The person we seek will have a proven track record in securing income from a programme of major giving, as well as the ability to help the Golf Foundation attract more funding from golf clubs.

Essential Experience
• Strong financial management experience, commercially astute with experience of financial planning and managing budgets and resources.
• Demonstrable experience of making the ask and securing the gift.
• Experience of working within a small, close‑knit team; the ability to inspire organisational participation in fundraising and ‘buy-in’ to new, innovative fundraising programmes.
• Proven experience of driving significant fundraising growth.
• Hands-on fundraising experience and a proven ability to build and develop relationships with high value donors.
Essential Skills
• An ability to inspire people and to develop trusting, long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, with the gravitas to gain the trust and respect of relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively with the Chief Executive to develop, refine and implement effective plans for fundraising growth.
• Highly numerate with the ability to easily work with and analyse financial data.
• Highly literate with the ability to communicate easily, both verbally and in writing.
Essential Knowledge
• Working knowledge of charity law, governance and Charity Commission requirements.
• Awareness of key current issues impacting relevant fundraising markets.
• Good level of IT literacy.
• Some knowledge of sport charities would be desirable.
Other Requirements
• Travel to and attend fundraising events on behalf of the charity as required, including evenings and weekends.
• Previous golf experience is highly desirable though not essential for an exceptional candidate.
