Job Description
You are looking to join us at an incredibly exciting time. The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow were the most successful ever for Team England, with a total of 174 medals driving England to the top of the medal table for the first time in 28 years. More than 400 athletes will represent team England at The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games across 18 sports. Gold Coast 2018 will also showcase the largest ever Commonwealth Games para sport programme, with 7 different para disciplines integrated in to the competition schedule.
Birmingham is the UK’s official candidate city for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, with the city’s plans approved by the government.
The current members of the Board of Commonwealth Games England offer a wide range of skills and experiences and we are looking for a set of skills in these appointments in order to complement these and maintain the overall balance of the Board.
We are looking to appoint up to three Non-Executive Directors to shadow the Board during the build up to the Gold Coast before formally taking up their posts in spring/summer 2018.
We are particularly seeking to recruit Non-Executive Directors with a proven track record at a strategic level in one or more of the following areas - Fundraising, Sponsorship and Public Affairs.
