As volunteers are not paid it is even more important that organisation consider person development, other rewards and makes sure a person feel recognition for the time and effort they put into the organisation.
Making sure that people develop skills, they might use in their professional live or which help them landing a new job can be extremely important. Making them feel that people value what they do and they get something back will increase the retention of volunteers and will save the organisation time and resources finding new volunteers and training them to do the job.
