Unincorporated Association

Printer-friendly version

Unincorporated associations are often chosen by smaller organisations as no need for registration exists. The association will have no legal existence separated from its individual members. No cost is attached to setting up an unincorporated association and there is no requirement for it to register at company house etc.

The regulation regarding the selection of office-bearer is set down in the democratic constitution and committee will usually be elected to run the organisation on behalf of its members, subject to the size of the association.
