Unincorporated associations are often chosen by smaller organisations as there is no need for registration. The association will have no legal existence separate from its individual members. No cost is attached to setting up an unincorporated association and there is no requirement for it to register at Company House.
The regulation regarding the selection of office-bearer is set out in the democratic constitution and the committee will usually be elected to run the organisation on behalf of its members, subject to the size of the association.
