The Sport and Recreation Alliance Sports Club of the Year Awards have been running for 20 years and have now been renamed the Community Sport and Recreation Awards to embrace the wealth of recreational organisations and bodies that perform excellent work in their local communities.

There are several categories of award, designed to highlight the breadth of work that is undertaken in the community sport and recreation sector.

Awards will be presented for:

• Community Sport + Recreation Overall Winner – £2,000
• Volunteer Management – £1,000 – sponsored by TMG CRB
• School Links – £1,000
• Professional Club Community Programme of the Year Award – £1,000 – sponsored by The Professional Footballers' Association (The PFA)
• Green Thinking – £1,000 – sponsored by Utility Aid
• Innovative Project Award – £1,000 – sponsored by Hiscox

Nominations for 2013 are now closed.

This year we received numerous high quality applications and the judging panel has chosen the six award winners that will be announced at the Alliance's AGM at St James's Palace on the 9 July.
