Professional sport

National governing bodies of sport in the UK look after both the elite and the grassroots parts of their sport. The two are inextricably linked, with funds from TV deals and intellectual property rights being reinvested back into the grassroots and the grassroots supporting the development of top athletes. Sports sign up to the Alliance’s voluntary code for broadcasting rights which sees 30% of domestic TV revenue reinvested into community sport.
