Location: Based at Head Office at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham with national and international travel as the role requires

UK Athletics (UKA), the National Governing Body for the premier Olympic sport of athletics, is offering an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of UKA’s major events strategy.

The Major Events Team manages the format and delivery of world-class events in-house at British Athletics, this includes managing the design, operational logistics, ticketing sales and operations, branding and venue management.  The MET also organises all Technical Officials and Volunteer arrangements for the events.

We are currently seeking to recruit a great PR professional to join the team and help with the effective delivery of the PR plan for British Athletics Events, overseeing external agencies engaged in this area, who may be assisting with marketing campaigns.

The successful candidate will have significant media relations experience – ideally in sports or other high profile sector, and experience in event media management ideally in the sports arena. They will also have experience of sponsor liaison & stakeholder liaison, strong editorial values and writing ability, and communication skills of the highest standards.

The post holder will take responsibility of delivery of the media, communications and PR strategy for British Athletics events including development of a yearly PR plan.
