Membership Development Officer

Salary: £23,000 - £28,000

Reporting to: Communications & Engagement Manager

ROLE SUMMARY

The Sport and Recreation Alliance believes that the power of sport and recreation can change lives and bring communities together. Together with our members and in partnership with the wider sector, we make the most of opportunities and tackle the areas that provide a challenge. We do this by providing advice, support and guidance and by being the voice of the sector. Working with Government, policy makers and the media, we help grassroots sport and recreation grow and thrive. The Membership Development Officer is responsible to the Communications & Engagement Manager and part of the Communications, Marketing and Member Engagement department. This role is responsible for the day to day delivery of the membership function and the delivery of the engagement plan to gather and share member insights across the organisation to drive membership recruitment and retention, as well as developing our member services.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage the day to day membership function, including organising the renewals process, keeping the CRM up to date and acting as first point of contact for membership queries and support

· Work closely with the Communications & Engagement Manager on strategic development for the membership function and how insights can be used to develop the membership offer

· Offer and provide member support through routine contact to improve retention and identify trends and opportunities to support and work with them

· Work to collect and use insight collected via the engagement plan and routine contact to identify new member services and to add value to the membership offer
