Communications Intern
Salary: In the range of £13,000 per annum
Contract: Six month fixed term
Do you like talking sport? Fancy doing it for a living?
We’re looking for a communications intern to join us at the Sport and Recreation Alliance. You’ll be a key part of our small communications team, taking responsibility for your own areas of work, receiving PRCA training and working closely with the rest of our effervescent staff as you add valuable skills to your CV.
The Alliance is the umbrella body for the governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation. We represent 320 members in total - everyone from the FA to the Ramblers.
The role
The Communications Intern will be the third member of the communications team. You’ll be involved in a really wide range of work but a big part of your focus will be on our website, our Twitter feed and other digital and social communications. You’ll measure how we’re doing using analytics tools, work towards picking up a bigger audience, and make sure that our comms tools are joined up.
You’ll need to muck in too – it’s not all corner offices and three hour lunches round here, you know. You’ll be providing support to the team on projects which range from marketing our commercial partners to helping out with our policy-driven campaigns.
What do we want from you? We want you to be curious and hardworking, engaged and engaging. You will have to show us a real interest in the world of communication, not just sport, and know your Pinterest from your Mashable. And because we never learnt binary, you’ll need to be able to write strong English too.
How to apply
To apply, read the full job description then fill in our application and equal opportunities forms and return them by email to Sue Wressell. You can also return your forms by post to Human Resources, Sport and Recreation Alliance, Burwood House, 14-16 Caxton Street, London, SW1H 0QT. If you have any queries, call Sue Wressel on 020 7976 3920.
The closing date for applications is 4pm on Wednesday 7 March 2012. Interviews will be held on 12 and 13 March. The Sport and Recreation Alliance is actively seeking to recruit a diverse workforce and will guarantee an interview to applicants with a disability who meet the recruitment criteria.
