What kind of services do we provide?

Running a sport or activity isn’t easy, particularly if you are offering your time as a volunteer. But whether you are involved as a paid member of staff at a national governing body (NGB) or working voluntarily, the Sport and Recreation Alliance knows that there are plenty of demands on your time.

We provide a range of services which save our members time and money. Most are included in the price of the membership fee.

  1. Our daily news summary
Each day before 10:00am, we send out a round-up of the day’s most interesting and informative news articles on sport and recreation, including links to original sources.

  2. Training
Keeping up with the latest best practice or regulation can be time-consuming and costly so we provide a range of training opportunities for NGBs and people involved in the sport and recreation sector. From workshops on customer relationship management (CRM) and databases to bespoke chief executive training courses, the training we offer is designed to reflect the needs of our members and therefore changes from month to month.

  3. Governance
Governance is a hot topic for national governing and representative bodies, especially those in receipt of public funding. The Sport and Recreation Alliance advises on all elements of governance, from club structures to the make-up of boards and trustees.

  4. Events
Over the course of a year, we offer a wide range of events to NGBs and sports clubs. Our programme includes our national conference, which has in recent years attracted speakers including Secretaries and Ministers of State, sports stars, international referees, award-winning journalists, foreign ambassadors and royalty. For more information visit our events pages.

Find out more about our upcoming events and training on the event section on the Sport and Recreation Alliance website.
