Recruitment Officer (Academy U17 – U23’s)

Hours: Full Time (40 Hours)

Sunderland AFC are currently looking to appoint a Recruitment Officer for the Academy U17 – U23’s age groups. This position will report to the Academy Manager and Club Recruitment Officer and will be based at the Academy of Light which holds EPPP Category 1 status. 

The post holder will assist the Club Recruitment Officer to identify high quality talent; and to assist in the coordination and organisation of all aspects of recruitment, local, national and international. You will be a confident and articulate individual who can work in a team and be a team player facilitating interaction with other recruitment staff and other departments, assisting in player assessments and decisions on individuals.

There will be a range of duties including: match allocation to scouts or any other relevant personnel as necessary, relationship building with clubs, associations and other relevant recruitment sources, the follow-up of any leads and recommendations, ensure Sunderland AFC scouts are continuously of a high standard, ensure all avenues are explored to identify potential elite players. The role requires the completion of scouting administration, including match reports, feedback, expenses, parent/guardian communication and facilitate trialist visits. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of organisational skills and have a pro-active attitude to tasks, and is required to be highly confidential; having the ability to multi-task and prioritise to strict deadlines, ensuring all procedures and working practices are adhered to, assessed and amended as required.

As this role involves travelling the successful candidate need not be based in the North East.

The ideal candidate should have basic computer literacy, be willing to undertake Continuous Professional Development (CDP) as required for the role and/or as organised by the Club, have experience in elite foundation player talent ID and be in possession of both valid FA Safeguarding qualification and Disclosure and Barring certificate.
