Trustees x2
Salary: Voluntary

Job Description
The Racing Foundation was established in 2012 and received an endowment of £78m from the net proceeds of the government’s sale of the Tote. The Foundation’s aim is to support charitable purposes associated with the horseracing and thoroughbred breeding industry to “create a lasting legacy for the sport”.
The Racing Foundation was founded by its three members: the British Horseracing Authority, the Racecourse Association and the Horsemen’s Group and is constituted as a company limited by guarantee and registered as a charity. The Trustees are responsible for the Foundation’s strategy, activities and grant making and oversee its financial affairs and governance. They plan to meet four times a year.
This is an exciting period to join the Foundation as building on its success in awarding over £7m to date, largely to training, education and welfare projects, it establishes a fresh strategy for 2018-2021 to ensure it is pro-active in distributing funding and making a difference to the sport. As well as an interest in horse racing and a broad business background the Trustees are keen to attract candidates with a strong knowledge of HR management at an industry level and candidates with experience in communications and PR. Trustees are also keen to extend the diversity of the Board and would welcome applications from currently under-represented groups.
