Regional Development Officer (East Midlands Region)

Salary: Circa £26,500 plus car plus benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Golf Foundation’s expanding network of regional development officers and coordinate the successful HSBC Golf Roots programme in the East Midlands region of England (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire).

The Officer will work closely with PGA Coaches and officials/volunteers in golf clubs, and in partnership with officers from England Golf and the Professional Golfers’ Association, to help more young people ‘Start, Learn and Stay’ in the sport.  In addition, the successful candidate will work with a variety of national and local partners such as StreetGames, County Sports Partnerships, clubs and schools to help more young people enjoy the playing and personal benefits of golf.

A sound knowledge of sports development principles and practices is essential, as is experience of sports development work with schools, communities and clubs.

Good IT skills, experience of operating Microsoft Office, and the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of circumstances are all required.  An appropriate leisure or teaching qualification is desirable.  Applicants should have an interest, but not necessarily a background, in golf.  The Golf Foundation is seeking an individual that shares its core values.
