Job Description

Volleyball England is the recognised National Governing Body for Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and Sitting Volleyball in England. Volleyball England is responsible for the development, promotion and delivery of Volleyball across England.

Volleyball England is working hard to modernise the image of the game and support the club infrastructure across the country. This includes developing and maintaining our network of Clubs, Coaches and Referees, of Volunteers and of players of all standards and ages irrespective of gender and background.

Volleyball England is currently looking to appoint an Independent Chair to provide strong leadership and support the delivery of our 2017 / 21 strategy.

The role of Independent Chair is crucial to the work and effectiveness of the Board. The Chair should not only be prepared and able to take on additional commitments, but they must be able to operate at a broader and higher level. The Chair must be able to command the support of the other members of the Board, the membership, the staff team and organisation's partners. In bringing leadership, specialist skills and experience to Volleyball England, the right candidate will be independent of any and will understand all the areas of specialism which board Directors may possess.

Volleyball England is fully committed to the principles of equality of opportunity and is responsible for ensuring that no applicants, staff, volunteers, or participants are unlawfully discriminated against on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation (together the "Protected Characteristics"). Volleyball England welcomes applications from all sections of society
