Marketing & Communication Coordinator

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Purpose

To coordinate and lead Volleyball England’s communications and marketing functions, including the generation of insight on not only consumers but engaging with the core market.

Key Responsibilities

Communications, Marketing and PR

· Implement marketing and PR strategy and build capacity within Volleyball England to increase awareness and brand of volleyball, and in turn participation

· To implement the long-term communications strategy, with subsequent operational communications plans

· To manage relationships with media contacts and generate press interest, by means of establishing relevant collateral, producing copy, drafting press releases, establishing photo opportunities

· To co-ordinate media requirements at key events

· To manage coordinate, and curate content of websites, social media and other IT channels 

Insight

· Manage the provision of consumer insights to provide analysis to drive prioritisation of activity by the Volleyball Hub at Loughborough

· Field teams and volunteers to achieve strategic goals 

To promote Volleyball England in key areas

· To engage with and deliver clearly defined messages to several audiences including the media, schools, universities, businesses, members, funding agencies and other partners, in conjunction with staff and Commissions

· To enhance the status of Volleyball England amongst stakeholders both within England and within Europe and the volleyball world, utilising opportunities for enhancing promotions

· To be responsible for achieving and maintaining a consistent corporate identity in all areas of activity, including website, stationery and promotional items, branding at events and other branding across the business 

Publications

· To oversee the production of all Volleyball England in-house and supported publications and to advise on their formulation and distribution

· To manage and co-ordinate the production of Time Out and other company journals, periodicals and e-newsletters as directed

· To manage and co-ordinate the preparation of programmes, handbooks and other publications 

Performance Management and Monitoring

· To ensure effective performance management procedures and practices are in place and to ensure achievement of outcomes

· Report to the Marketing & Communications board sub group on progress against agreed outcomes on a quarterly basis

· Manage, appraise and develop staff assigned to the Marketing & Communications team, including setting targets and managing performance 

Budget Management

· To be responsible for budget planning, delivery, review and management in relation to the Marketing & Communications team

· To ensure that income targets are achieved

· To ensure all award conditions are completed successfully 

General

· To undertake such additional duties as may reasonably be required by the Chief Executive or Chief Operating Office from time to time in pursuance of raising the profile of the Association and improving communication, profile and income generation
