Performance Services Officer

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)

Location: 60 Charlotte Street, London W1T 2NU. Travel may also be required in the UK and abroad as necessary

Hours of work: Such hours as are necessary to fulfil the duties. This will involve a minimum of 35 hours per week, and include work in evenings and weekends as required.

Job Purpose:

Demonstrating the BPA’s core values at all times, the post holder will manage, coordinate, deliver and administer a range of services and support which will contribute to the achievement of the performance targets, aims and objectives of the BPA through the following:

· Excellence in coordination and administration of identified activities across the Sport Directorate, including Sport Science and Medicine initiatives and other areas of the Performance Strategy to ensure world class delivery from Preparation through the Games

· Excellence in project management and technical input to core services including but not exclusively; Anti-Doping, Welfare and Safeguarding, Games Readiness and associated groups and initiatives

· Commitment as an individual and as part of the wider core team, to support the creation and delivery of optimal pre-Games / Games-time environments for the whole ParalympicsGB delegation

Job Description:

Demonstrating the BPA’s core values at all times, the post holder will manage, deliver, coordinate and administer a range of services and support across performance and athlete services functions.

Key responsibilities will include:

Coordination and administration of Sport Science and Medicine initiatives and other areas of the Performance Strategy to ensure world class delivery from preparation through the Games

Project management and technical input to core services including but not exclusively; Anti-Doping, Welfare and Safeguarding, Games Readiness and associated groups and initiatives

Support for the creation and delivery of optimal pre-Games / Games-time environments for the whole ParalympicsGB delegation

Qualifications

Essential

· A minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English 

Desirable

· Degree in sports science or management-related discipline

· Formal Project Management qualification 

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

· High level written and verbal communication skills

· IT literate including Outlook, Work, Excel, Powerpoint and database management

· Ability to process numerical and textual information

· Accomplished minute and note taking skills

· Demonstrable experience of coordinating and / or delivering technical services /programmes for athletes including anti-doping education programmes and welfare and safeguarding

· Experience of successfully working with partnership organisations and other internal and external stakeholders 

· Experience of running or assisting in the running of events, such as seminars, workshops, and conferences

· Well-developed time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work and to set and meet deadlines

· Proven ability to deliver against targets

· Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure over extended periods of time

Desirable

· General knowledge of disability sport

· A passion for sport

· Previous experience of working either in a sports environment or a fast-moving project environment

· Demonstrable project management / research skills

· A firm understanding of the logistics of planning major events

· Understanding of disability issues
