Participation Programmes Co-ordinator

Salary: Circa £18-22k pro-rata, plus excellent benefits package

Contract: 21 hours, Permanent

Reporting to: Director of Participation

Key Responsibilities

• To be accountable for driving sustained growth in participation through our programmes and campaigns

• To effectively manage the communication and relationships with our workforce of volunteers and trained Leaders 

• To provide remote support to the network of affiliated clubs, public facilities and universities that sign up to deliver our programmes and campaigns

• To co-ordinate a new ‘Leader recognition programme’ to be implemented across our programmes

• To take responsibility for the monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of each programme and campaign

• To develop and maintain relationships with the network of key local deliverers to share updates and best practice

• To work with the network of key local deliverers to create content for England Squash to publish and communicate to a wider audience

• Maintaining databases of contacts and organising engagement opportunities as appropriate

• Supporting and playing an active role in the Participation Team and contributing towards the objectives of the ‘Game Changer’ participation strategy

• To oversee distribution and management of resources, equipment or funding offers linked to programmes and campaigns 

• Carry out any other reasonable duties as required

Person Specification

Desirable

• Educated to degree level in a relevant field

• Evidence of self-driven CPD

• Full UK driving license

Knowledge

Essential

• A proven track record of success in a relevant field

• A strong understanding of the key elements of a customer facing organisation 

• An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and using websites, social media and online meeting software

• Knowledge of the community sports sector and the evolving ways in which people consume sport and physical activity

Desirable

• Knowledge of the organisation of sport in England

• An understanding of budget management

• An understanding of the structure of squash in England

Skills

Essential

• Project management and planning skills

• The ability to use and interpret data to analyse trends to support decision making and produce reports

• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

• A can do attitude, tenacious with the ability to see things through and get the job done

• Attention to detail

• Strong prioritisation skills

Experience 

Essential

• Coordinator level experience

• A track record of creating successful partnerships with multiple organisations and individuals in public, private and voluntary sectors, with demonstrable positive outcomes  

• Understanding insight and interpreting data to produce documents at operational level to achieve agreed outcomes

• Assessing projects in order to evaluate performance against agreed outcomes

• Experience of supporting community-based initiatives, identifying and commissioning partners to achieve desired outcomes

• Experience of managing numerous projects or programmes simultaneously

• A track record of success in customer relationship management with the ability to empathise with and influence others to gain support and achieve desired results 

Desirable

• Wider knowledge of health and community agendas e.g. within local authorities

• Coordinator level experience in a sporting setting

• Experience of sourcing and securing external revenue through funding, grants or sponsorship

• Experience in facilitating discussions or meetings and presenting information to audiences
