Sport Wales Senior Officer

12 month Fixed-Term Contract from October 2016 (will consider secondments)

Location:  Cardiff (with some flexibility)

Sport Wales is the national organisation responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales. We aim to get every child hooked on sport for life in Wales and to build a nation of champions.

This is an exciting time for the organisation Community sport is going through a period of development.  We have a unique opportunity for a Sport Wales Senior Officer to cover a secondment from the Community Sport Team.

This is a key role and will play a part in developing and implementing new policy and leading key partnerships, such as those with National Partners, Local Authorities and Sports Governing Bodies and is directly aligned to the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act.

We are looking for someone who possess the ability to work with a wide range of partners and drive national projects to increase participation in sport and physical activity.

The individual would ideally possess a strong understanding of transformational change, ability to lead, inspire and build highly effective relationships, have exceptional experience in project management, be a strategic thinker and bring drive and influence  to support us achieve our goals.

You will work innovatively with colleagues and external organisations at a regional and national level while maximising performance insight to deliver community sport outcomes.

It is essential that you have a degree or an equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject, along with experience in sport and physical activity development or a related field.  You will be an influencer who is organised with excellent planning, communication, negotiation and administrative skills.

Salary range - £33,060 to £40,680 per annum (inclusive of 20% unsocial hour’s allowance). Subject to review.

37 hours per week
